Decorating at the dollar store

So I have been on the prowl this week. Starting my garden, raking the leaves (left over from fall), filling in holes left by my lovely dogs, and planting grass seed on our dirt filled yard. To put it lightly, busy! I did find time to go to the dollar store and look what I made!

Housewife Worksheets!

Hi there!
I spent all night up, I think I have gotten off my sleeping pattern. Therefore I can no longer sleep during the night. After all night of pinterest  I came up with some great ideas to get my house organized. I even made it out to the dollar store to get things started for the month!

I always balance my check book and pay bills on the 8th and 22nd of the month. I saw a neat idea on pinterest to start a binder for financials. So I went to the dollar store and got binders and sheet protectors. I already have dividers.
I also made my worksheets on excel (I am a little bit on an excel geek!)

Here is the link for them. They are printable too!

The first worksheet is for a monthly meal planner (This is actually my meal plan for March. You can edit them once you download.)

The second worksheet is a grocery list ordered by kind.

The third is a monthly budget worksheet.

All are editable! I hope you enjoy!

Autumn

Korean Beef

TOTAL TIME: 8 hrs 15 min
Prep: 5 min
Inactive Prep: 8 hrs
Cook: 10 min

 Korean Beef

Ingredients:
1 Flank Steak
1 C Soy Sauce
1 Bunch Green Onions Chopped (Do not use white part)
6 tsp Minced Garlic
1 TBSP Sesame Oil
1 TBSP Sesame Seeds
Dash Cayenne Pepper

Instructions:
Mix all ingredients (except steak) in gallon zip bag. Slice the flank steak diagonally and across the grain into ¼ inch thick strips. Add strips into marinade and marinate overnight or for 8 hrs.

Weave strips onto skewers and broil on high for 5-10 minutes or until browned.

Autumn’s Tips: Make sure you cut the beef across the grain, otherwise it will fall apart.

If you use bamboo skewers soak them in water for 30 minutes. This will keep them from splintering.

This is my favorite meal of all time!!! First time I ever liked beef. Makes great left overs.

Chicken Fajitas

TOTAL TIME: 20 min
Prep: 5 min
Inactive Prep:  min
Cook: 15 min

 Autumn’s Fajitas- All time Favorite
Seasoning Ingredients:
1 tablespoon cornstarch
 2 teaspoons chili powder
 1 teaspoon salt
 1 teaspoon paprika
 1 teaspoon white sugar
 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Fajita Ingredients:
1-2 lbs chicken breast cut into cubes
Seasoning (included above)
Mexican Cheese
2 TBSP Olive Oil
¼- ½ C water
Tortillas (See recipe for Homemade Tortillas to die for!)

Instructions:
Wisk all ingredients for seasoning together in a small bowl and set aside.
Cook chicken in olive oil until browned on med heat. Add some water if chicken is burning but not cooked through (water will evaporate). Once chicken is cooked add water and seasoning mixture. Boil until thickened. Set pan aside. Build your fajitas with chicken and cheese and microwave for 30 sec to melt cheese.

Autumn’s Tips: To make quesadillas, fry tortillas in oil until crispy. Add chicken and cheese and top with another tortilla. Heat until cheese is melted. YUM!!!

If you add to little water to chicken and seasoning add more, if you added too much cook until thickened (water will evaporate).

You can add sautéed onions and peppers for extra bonus. ( I don’t like it though LOL, Matt does).

Best Fried Chicken Ever!

I am a lover of fried chicken and have tried many ways of cooking chicken with all sorts of spices. I have finally come up with the best!

Ingredients:
2 Cups Bisquick
3 TBSP Parmesan grated
½ TSP Paprika
2 TSP Salt
2 TSP Pepper
1 TSP garlic powder
2 eggs
2 TBSP Milk
Boneless Skinless chicken breasts

Preheat deep fryer to 350. Mix all dry ingredients together in a medium sized bowl. Mix egg and milk in separate bowl. Cut chicken into strips. Dip chicken into flour mix, then into egg, and back into flour mixture As soon as you have it coated immediately drop into fryer (Have your basket in oil, do not put on basket and then dip it will cause coating to stick) fry for about 4-5 minutes or until chicken reaches a safe temperature of 170.

While the deep fryer is hot cut up potatoes to make homemade fries and then you have a complete dinner!\
